The Merritt Brook Scholarship was set up to serve graduating students with a minimum 2.5 GPA from accredited Idaho high schools in the Magic Valley, including Blaine, Camas, Cassia, Gooding, Jerome, Lincoln, Minidoka and Twin Falls counties. We seek applicants who have a clearly defined goal for college and plan to attend any accredited 2-4 year college or university in the United States.
Scholarship awards are generally made for the initial year of college but we also consider multi-year awards at the discretion of the scholarship committee upon the student’s continued academic performance. Returning applicants are given equal consideration in our review of applicants. In each annual cycle, we typically award between $3000-5000 to two to three scholarship recipients.
Applicants should coordinate with their high school guidance counselors to prepare an application package consisting of the following:
- Completed application form, signed and dated below
- Copy of your most recent high school transcript, report card, or college transcript.
- Essay on the topic described in the application form
- Letter(s) of recommendation
